Hunter's Actual Birthday

So for Hunter's actual birthday.....I picked him up from preschool with some fun balloons for him and then we went to the park with friends.  He picked Red Robin for dinner and they sang to him and he got another balloon.  Life is good for this 4 year old!!

Holy smokes, I can't believe that my baby is 4 already.  I think I say this every birthday for Reag and Hunter! :) I honestly wish I could just freeze them both at the ages they are at.  I'm okay for time to move on, but I just don't want my kids to change. It makes me too sad to know that they are just getting older and busier and less needy.  Don't get me wrong, it is nice that they are more self-sufficient, but it's all just going way too fast!!!!

Ok, back to Hunter's birthday! He'd been saying that he's wanting to go "bowling ball" for "exercise" so we decided that's what we 'd do.  It was a very low key, chill event! We didn't really plan a party and just planned to be together as a family and enjoy the day together. We slept in and then made breakfast, Hunter got to sit in his special spot.  Then we let him open his gifts.  Then Linda called and said she and Eric and his girls were coming to town and wanted to see us.  They met us at Reagan's basketball game then we went bowling.  After that we grabbed pizza and went back to our house for cake and ice cream.  They stayed for awhile and the kids had a blast playing and we enjoyed visiting.

Ok, so there were a few presents that I might have forgotten about! I remembered and had Nick hurry and hide them. They had fun finding them in the guest bedroom and bathroom.

I made my oreo cake and then added some new cars and a monster truck on the top. Pretty simple, but he loved it!

New Year's Day

We slept in New Year's Day and then got up and went on a family bike ride and then out to lunch before Nick had to go to work.  It was a good morning and a great start to a new year!! There's also a few pics of my new cabinet and décor I got for Christmas!! The pictures are crappy---the basement, at night so there isn't good light!

I got this pretty thing for my long hallway.  It was a gift to myself, from myself for Christmas! I made the burlap wreaths to add some color.  Thanks Loke for the idea!!!

I love this old frame!!! You'll never believe I got it for $8 at DI. They had it for $15, but it was broken.  I knew Nick could fix it, so I asked for a lower price and they offered that low! It was SO hard to hide my "in awe-ness"!! Love!

My new cabinet!!!!! Isn't she so pretty and looks so good in front of my red door! It's a random red door and Nick was skeptical at first---you want a door...in the house....that we can't use?! Got this door and the door knobs and the old boxes when we cleaned out my dad's house.  I painted the door, put the knob random, and made the white wreath (again, thanks Loke for showing me how!!!!) so it would pop against the red.  The cabinet is my fave and the boxes are great to store PS3 stuff.

Fun with Friends

The next day after our quick Mesquite trip, our besties the Phillip's came up from Las Vegas and stayed for a bit.  It is always so much fun!!! Seriously, we ate tons and game and stay up till like 3 in the morning and then die the next morning!!! Thankfully, our kids are getting old enough that they can play and let us sleep in a little.  They got here Thursday early evening and we had a blast just catching up and playing games and shopping a little. The next morning there was more shopping and then we went up to Brianhead and went tubing.  We came back and played more games that night. Saturday--Nick and had to talk in Sacrament the next day and still hadn't prepared our talks!!! Crazy! So we spent time preparing those and Drew had to study so it was a chill day then we gamed and ate and just chilled.  Sunday---church, gaming and eating and we watched 17 Miracles.  Monday--we gamed some and ate (are you catching a theme?!).  Phillip's left in the afternoon when Nick went to work.  Then it was back to real life for me....no fun!!! It was New Year's Eve and Nick had to work and the kids were worn out so really we just chilled and didn't party at all.  The kids went to bed at the normal time and I worked on the computer.  Pretty lame this year!!!

Yep, Nick and I got Forever Lazy's for each other for Christmas.  Then we went back and got 2 more for Drew and Loke thinking it'd be hilarious....it was!!!

It was SOOO cold!!!! It was 4 degrees when we left the mountain! Reag loved it, Hunter not so much.  He had to ride by himself and got stuck the first time and that made it his last time.  He loved going up the mountain, not going down.  Nick and I took turns until finally Hunter and I were freezing and went to the car.  He was out within 2 minutes and slept until we got home. I think he'd love it if he wasn't so tired and cold.
