Thanksgiving

We had visitors for 2 weekends straight then the next we went home for Thanksgiving to Caliente. It was a small adventure in itself!! Thanksgiving day we headed over and had a MASSIVE dinner with about 75 people of Nick's family.  It was pretty nuts, but so fun to see everyone and the fried turkey was great.....thanks Drew!!  After dinner a few of us girls drove back to St. George for Black Friday shopping since Nick had to go back and work a grave shift...we decided it was the perfect excuse to run over and shop! Holy cow, we had so much fun! We didn't get too crazy, but we did laugh a lot and we stayed up ALL NIGHT! We seriously came back to our house a little after 7am Friday, slept for a few hours, ran to Costco and then went back to Caliente for another dinner.  We had so much fun!!!! Thanksgiving in Caliente was fun too.  It was the year that everyone was there, except for Colby who's on his mission now.  Everyone is married now so it's so fun when we all get together---lots of laughing and games and the cousins love playing together. We shot skeet, played minute to win it games, ate lots, gamed, and we played the newlywed game.  It was pretty funny! There were about 8 or 9 couples and guess who won?!! Not the 2 sets of newlyweds or the parents that have been married almost 30 years.....nope, we did!! 10 years later and we still know each other and can remember things from SO long ago!! That was definitely my favorite part.  Good times!!

Pretty much the entire time Reag is always outside with the animals.  She says she wants to be a vet someday.  She's always way tender and sweet and kind to animals.

 

Halloween Fun

We had a fun busy October--mostly projects around the house and travelling. The kids painted pumpkins this year because we didn't even slow down long enough to carve them! How sad right?! Nick and I have such off schedules and we LOVE to do those kinds of things together as a family and we just ended up not having a night with time that matched up together.  The kids did LOVE painting them though and didn't even ask about carving! Reag decided that she wanted to be a cat this year and Hunter was Ryan Dungey-Motorcross Rider. He was pretty cute! At the last minute, I COULD NOT find his treat holder bucket thing and I pretty much tore up the house and we still couldn't find it! Nick was super smart and said that he should just use his helmet.....genius!!!! We had so many nice complements on it too! Great idea, but it did get too heavy once there was lots of candy in it.  Oh well, we still had a great night together with my awesome little kiddies! Halloween afternoon---Reag had a fun costume parade at school.  After we watched her go around the track, all of the teachers did a coordinated dance to Thriller.  The kids loved it and I thought it was pretty cool that they would take the time to learn and practice together. After the parade, we walked over to Hunter's preschool and grabbed him....then we ran and got a pumpkin shaped pizza and ran home to eat and get ready for the night.  It was a great day!!

November

November was super busy too....I feel like I say that ALOT! I guess we just have a lot of balls in the air all the time. At the beginning of the month, Nick turned 32! Do you remember when 30 seemed old?! Seriously, I remember that...no lie! We didn't do a big thing this year....we were all too tired! Wow, we are old! :) We went out to dinner and I made a Red Velvet cake for him.  The following weekend our friends, the Lichty's, came and visited.  They had baseball games here in town, so it was fun to watch Nick play for a bit (and we all froze) and to also visit and play with all of them! My sister also ran a race that weekend, so we ran over and saw her too.  It was a fun, busy weekend! And I was fighting a cold, but we always love having friends visit. The next weekend my sister came to visit.  We went out to dinner and then went to see the new Twilight movie.  It was good, but I'm slightly okay that they are done.  Just sayin'! :)

Quick Hunting Trip

Nick was pretty sad that he didn't draw out at all this year, but lucky for him, he's got lots of brothers and cousins that he can still go with! He ran over home for a few days to hunt with Chauncey.  He had two different tags and unfortunately, Nick could only go for the first hunt and had to miss the big hunt.  Chauncey REALLY scored with the 2nd hunt.  Nick's happy either way though and just loves that he gets to do something he loves--hunting, outdoors and being with his peeps.

I'm back!!!

Holy Cow!!! It's been a busy few months for our family, but I'm ready to get caught up! At the end of each year, I print our blog into a hardbound book.  It always matches, which I love, and the kids LOVE to look back at the fun things we've done.  I even sat back and read through a few the last time we moved while I was unpacking them.  So pretty much, I have to get updated ASAP so I can get the book made before it's time to go back to work. And really, I hate getting so behind because then I mostly just post things I have pictures of, not the fun, crazy every day things.  So, back to October.  We moved at the end of September.  The next week we threw a retirement/birthday party for my dad....at my house...where peeps needed to stay!!! Let's just say it was a crazy, TIRING week! However, we got it done.  We were completely unpacked and decorated and ready for people Friday afternoon.  It was a GREAT weekend and we love that our house is now bigger to accommodate lots of people since we LOVE having peeps always!

After the party on Saturday, some of the girls decided we needed to do a little shopping and leave the boys home with the kids! :) We brought milkshakes back so they were okay! We played games late that night, then woke up and watched more conference.  I LOVE conference weekend.  The kids played Bingo, we ate lots of yummy food and we got to hear great talks.  It was a GREAT weekend!
