Besties

My awesome friend Liz visited us last weekend.  Liz and I met our 1st year of college at SUU and we have been buddies ever since.  We've gotten to see each other get married and now be moms.  The best part of us: we haven't lived by each other in years, but we can just pick it up like no time has passed.  It's just....easy.  She was so sweet to come and see us while she was visiting her family.  Her sweet little boys are too cute and I loved snuggling with her little newborn all day!! We haven't seen each other in almost 2 years.  It was crazy to think it had been that long.  Seriously, where does the time go??? Love you Lizzy!!!

My baby is 3!!!!!!!!!!!!



My sweet little Hunter turned 3 on January 14.  I can't believe it!!!! Honestly, it's going way TOO FAST!!! This little boy of mine is so perfect.  Actually he's a little stinker, but before he was even born, this boy had me wrapped!!! I've always thought that it's a Mother/Son thing and Reag and Nick definately have the Daddy/Daughter thing going on!! He is just so, so tender to me.  Probably because of the scary way he came to us and how sick and puny he was. Not a day goes by that I don't thank the Lord for my sweet little babies.  We work so hard for them and I definately don't take them for granted, especially on birthdays!!!  I just tucked them into bed and when they say, goodnight, I love you mom.  It is the most wonderful thing in the entire world to me. I love you sweet boy. Happy Birthday!!  



We started out the day with some balloons and fun decorations.  We had a yummy breakfast and we always have orange sweet rolls on special occasions.  This was the first year EVER that we haven't thrown a party for one of them.  We thought we were going to be out of town, but then it didn't happen last minute and I felt so guilty!! I love doing parties, but we had fun anyways just being together and letting Hunter pick some fun things to do.  He opened his presents.

Then we went to Red Robin for lunch.  It was fun and they were cute and sang to him and he just cheesed it up!

He brought his cars that he opened that morning.  He had so much fun driving them that he didn't even want his sundae!! Seriously, he never even had a bite! Who's kid is this?! Afterwards we went to get yummy cupcakes and he didn't even eat one!!!!!! I seriously could not believe it!

He chose to go to the bounce place.  They had a blast and were so pooped by the time we left.

Papa & Uncle

I don't ever think I could ever explain how much my little kids LOVE my dad.  Pretty much no one exists when he's around...for any of them! They have so much fun together and my dad is always so good to take care of them and let us chill.  Hunter ALWAYS wakes up so early when he's here, like hours early, and sneaks into the guest room and pokes my dad to see if he's awake yet.  It's pretty funny/I feel bad!

My dad got Hunter this Mack truck with cars in it while we were at Disneyland.  HUNTER LOVES IT!!!!!!

He had to sleep with them that night...and every night since! Each night we decide which ones are going back into Mack and which ones get to stay next to him.  Either way, Mack stays on the bed with the cars.

Ok, seriously we really aren't this red-neck, but Hunter LOVES monster trucks.  Nick recorded the supercross and was sitting down to watch it and this was on first.  Hunter was totally mesmerized.  It was hilarious and somewhat embarassing!!!! :)

 Some of the funny things they have said lately:

Reag-- "glass plates", not "brass plates" while we are reading scriptures

Hunter "throwed out", not "throwed up"

Reag--Mom, you scared me.  My heart was "beeping" so fast!!

Hunter fell off our bed and we kinda laughed/helped and then asked what hurt.  He says "my hair".  It was pretty funny! :)

Hunter is talking a ton and more and more in complete sentences.  He also a total ham and totally oblivious to most things.  We can be having a serious conversation that he isn't apart of and all of the sudden he'll pipe in with "stheriousth" (serious, with a lsp)??? We'll say yeah.  He'll say "why???" It's pretty funny and takes away anything serious we were trying to talk about.  He'll also get inpatient if we don't answer him or explain something quick enough and he'll say "tell me....tell me right now!" Shaking his finger too!!!!!  I wanna tell him to chill and be nice but also have to keep from laughing.  I can be getting onto Reag for something and he'll bust in with "yeah......don't do that, etc" and we have to tell him to stop and mind his business.  It's pretty funny too because he has no clue what's even going on, just wants to put his two cents in too.  Reagan continues to amaze us with how smart she is.  She spells really good.  She can see a word once, even hard ones like complicated, and can spell it right.  She understands big words really good too, which makes Nick and I very covert with what we say.  I can tell the time will come soon that we won't be able to talk about "the real stuff" around her.  She's too smart!!

Enterprise Basketball

My cute niece Kourtney is a freshman this year (sigh...where did the time do??!) and playing JV basketball.  She had a game in Enterprise so me and the kids met my family over and had a great time watching her and then grabbed some food after.  It's always so fun to be with them!!!

My sister-in-law Chantel (Nick's brother Erics' wife) coaches her team.

This is my brother-in-law Bryan (my sister's husband).  He coaches the boys team and drives the bus.  I guess you could say our family is pretty involved back home! Hunter LOVES Bryan and he is always so good to him!!

Another reason I love being a mom.....

Finally getting to sink into bed.....and finding fruity pebbles.  Ahhh, love those kiddies!! :) I'm sure one day I really will miss crumbs in the bed.....one day!

I love being a mom....

Most of the time!! Earlier today when poo literally poured, POURED, out of Hunter's diaper and I had to hurry and get his nasty clothes off and get him in the shower and then quickly clean the carpet, not so much loving being a mom at that exact moment!!!! :) But when I went in to get Reagan tucked into bed and she was kneeling down saying her prayers after we had already read and said family prayers, was pure Heaven and I could not be more proud of my sweet little Reagan.  I am so, so, so thankful for her sweet little Spirit in our home and for her silent reminders of the blessings I have. 

New Year's Weekend

We had so much fun having the Lichty family stay with us for the weekend.  Hunter LOVED having boys to play and keeps asking for Cooper, even in his prayers last night!

New Year's Eve--the adults started setting up a game and the kids wanted to play so we busted out about 4 or 5 kid games and they had a blast playing.  It was too cute!

K, this picture is super misleading so I decided to include it! :) Yesterday after church and dinner we decided to do a quick pick-up to be fresh and ready for a new week.  We had the X-box set-up in the guest room for the kids to play over the weekend so we went in there to unhook and put it back away.  I was vacumming and doing things in other rooms and Nick and I had a plan and a deadline for bedtime so he and I could relax and watch some tv together before bed.  I walked by and saw this.  A little annoyed, but kids were entertained so I kept going.  Later, I was chilling and Nick was finishing up trash and I said that I felt guilty that I was sitting while he was cleaning.  He said "Don't because he never does!".  Thanks babe!! :) Then he went on to say that he chose to play with kids and spend time with him because he wouldn't see them at all the next day with his schedule.  Seriously, right there is one of the MANY reasons that I love him.  He's always good to enjoy and care about the things that really matter.  It's a good reminder to me!!!!!

Cassie's Wedding

We've seriously had so much fun with visitors lately! Our break has been VERY full! The Sunday that we got back from Disney (1 week before Christmas), my sister's family was at our house staying the night.  The next day we had work/school, Jackson's left and that evening Andrea and Madison came to stay.  Tuesday night they left and Nick's brother Justin came to stay about 30 minutes later.  Justin left Wednesday afternoon, then we had a visitor break on Thursday.  Friday was my mom's birthday and she, Lisa, LaMar, and my dad all came over.  We went to dinner, she got sung to, then they watched my kids while Lisa and I went shopping a bit.  The kids had a blast!!!! They left late around 11:30 that night.  They are nuts!!!! Saturday was just us and Nick had to work all day.  Boo!!! The next day was Christmas and all the craziness that brings.  Justin came back to stay that night.  Monday, Mark and Linda came to visit and Justin was still staying.  Tuesday was Justin's wedding and our big pizza party.  Wednesday and Thursday were chill with no visitors.  Friday we were at the temple for Cassie's wedding, then our great friends the Lichty's came up that day to stay the weekend with us.  We have had a full, fun house.  We have loved it!!!! Our kids are bored now and Reag says she's ready to go back to school.  I'm not!!!!! :)   This picture with McKayla was so cute! They saw each other and Reag says "MmmmccccKKKKaaayyylllaaa, I've waiting my WHOLE life to see you!!!!!!!!!"  It was really sweet.  They are such good buddies!

Cute Cassie and Sam! Cassie looked SO SO SO beautiful.  Her jewelry was so bling and blinding in the St. George sun.  Her dress was so pretty and had this great bling on the side closer to Sam so you can't see.  Loved seeing her so happy!!!!

Cute Kiddies!

I seriously laugh all the time with my silly kids! Hunter is in the stage that he says the funnest things all the time.  I feel like I always say all of Hunter's funnies and leave Reag out, but mostly she amazes me with her smartness-- the words she uses and the questions she asks.  I guess I'm constantly thinking for it all to slow down!!

We were at church yesterday (1 o'clock=NOT FUN!) and I was holding Hunter at the closing of sacrament and he is SOOO loud.  He doesn't know how to whisper whatsoever! He's laughing and saying that my necklace looks like black grapes and little black apples SO LOUD! Then during the closing prayer in sacrament, I'm still holding him and he's looking over my shoulder and notices a balloon on the ceiling and yells "What's that??! A balloon??!!!!!" again SO LOUD and excited! It was also Fast and Testimony meeting and he was on the floor quietly (finally!) driving a few cars.  After about the 3rd or 4th testimony and "Amens", Hunter say's "Amen, again???" again, so loud!!! It was actually pretty funny! :) After church he runs up to me so excited and I ask him how he liked his new class, he say's "Hunter loved class and played with alot of cars!!!!!!!".  Apparently that's the best part of nursery--the cars.  Nick said his teachers were laughing at him the entire time and loved having him in class. 

We are taking treats after church to a few neighbors.  Our across the street neighbor is his new nursery teacher.  Hunter is so excited and wants to help Reagan deliver them, Nick watches on the front porch.  He gives it to his teacher, then asks HER for Candy!!!! She says she doesn't have any and he starts crying...on her porch! Nick yells that we are just giving to them and to come back.  He's seriously so sad.  He thought they were trick or treating!!!! No wonder he was so excited to go with Reagan! :)

Yesterday during a prayer, I tell him to fold his arms before we started.  He says "No mom, Hunter too busy!" Seriously?! Too busy to fold his arms, but his head was bowed and eyes closed and ready. 

Last night getting ready for bed, we had read scriptures and were getting ready to say prayers.  I asked Hunter if he would say it.  He says, "yes mom".  I say, good, thanks.  "No, serious mom, yes."  Ok Hunter, get started!

Reag was eating Cheetos this morning and sitting on a tower of my pillows (the top one was my WHITE bed pillow).  She's excited and shows me her cheesey fingers.  I say ooooh, yum, don't get it on my pillows! I'm walking out of the room and I heard oops, don't worry mom I wiped it off! (I'm thinking, it's fine, I can wash it), then she says..."with my clean hand"!!!  Thank goodness for smart Reag!!!!

At church I started crying and having a come-apart (that's normal right, you guys do that too?!) and Reag was so sweet and concerned.  I didn't have any tissues and was such a mess so she goes to the bathroom for me, but seriously brings back the crusty hard paper towel to dry hands.  It was sweet, but funny too! She saw me not using it tons and ran back and got me tp.  She's super thoughtful and sensitive and never wants to hurt people's feelings.  We joked yesterday after church when Hunter was so excited about nursery and his teachers loved him--we joked that we would really have to be careful what we say around him because he will be the kid that tells his teachers EVERYTHING!!! Reag was/still isn't like that.  She's a good girl!

Pretty much, I just thank the Lord everyday for giving these sweet, completely opposite babies to me.  I just want the time to slow down!!!!! I get really sad sometimes that our kids are so far apart and that it takes so much to get pregnant, but have to remind myself that one good part that I love about it is that we really get to enjoy them individually.  We had a long time to just enjoy Reagan, now we get to enjoy Hunter.  He was born when Reagan was already in preschool and then school.  It makes me sad when I think about the gap, but really enjoying them so much, not just "surviving" has been my saving grace.
