Master Bedroom Remodel

I decided that our master bedroom needed a MAJOR re-haul. I knew the colors and I knew I wanted to get a King bed. How in the world we've gone 9 years without one is insane!!!! We started off going yardsale-ing looking for nightstands and lamps. Here are the lamps we found.......not exactly my style, but with a little paint they'll be great! And they were $5 each!!!!!

We found this desk at an estate sale. I already had a new black desk that was great, but I LOVED the detail on this so I wanted to get it anyways and figure out what to do with it later! :) It's solid and has GREAT DETAILS. And I got it for $33!!!! Totally forgot to take a picture before. I also found our great nightstands that are way solid and old-school looking brown, but in my imagination, they were beautiful! And $15 each!!!!!!!! I forgot to take pictures of these too. :(

Love all the drawers. We really do keep it this clean. Well, it does have 2 monitors on it, but otherwise everything stays in the drawers. We even got a wireless mouse and keyboard that we bring out to use. I wish you could see the details better, it's beautiful and antiqued with brown showing through slightly.

Me and Hunter during Mommy-N-Me swim time. We took the class for 2 weeks and he LOVED the water but was tired of me holding him. He would try to push away from me towards the end. He thought he was sooo brave and I'm thinking, Hello you're 2 and can't swim!!!

Reag LOVED it and was so sad to be done after 2 weeks.

Hunter thinks he's so cool with his glasses the he has to wear ALL THE TIME and yet he's riding Reag's old pink tryk! Which he totally cruises on by the way. He can't reach the petals very well, so he just Flintstones it and I swear I have to about jog to keep up!!

I went in to check on the kids before lights out and this is what I found. SOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!

Reag had fun doing Hunter's hair. And yes, I know he needs a haircut! :)

Reag lost another tooth!!! She's losing them faster then they can grow back in. She was so excited to have the tooth fairy come and left her a sweet note asking to keep her tooth. The tooth fairy let her keep it and still left her $2, then she lost it down the drain while cleaning it! :)

Reagan loves her "silly socks". She has lots of different kinds. She had on these princess ones and Hunter wanted some on too so they got these. They don't match, but hey they're happy!! Nick on the other hand...... :)

Ok, so now I'm gonna post some fun stories and things they've said so feel free to skip along since I do realize it's never as funny to other people like it is to the parents!

• Driving in the car, the radio says Lady Gaga and Reag says "Lady Gaga! She's weird!" (She saw her on Oprah.) I kinda laughed because I didn't really think that she noticed those things or that if she does, that she would then put it together again later. It did give me the opportunity to talk with her about differences and how it may seem weird, but not to judge, etc. Anyways, too funny!



• Driving today and kids are watching movie quietly. Hunter sees a motorcycle outside and yells "MOTORCYCLE!!!" soooo loud we all jumped. Reag says, "Mom, Hunter made my heart stop" so calmly. Me too Reag!!



• My dad was here and he and Reag were putting a toy together and it was taking time and Reag was being super patient. Then he says he's not sure if he can do it all, it might take more time. She says "are you kiddin' me smalls?!" Oh my word, I about fell off my chair laughing!!!! Nick and I say that, but not all the time. She must store EVERYTHING we say!!!!!
  


• Hunter is really good about folding his arms and being quiet for prayers. The other night I was sooo pooped and got kids in bed and we skipped prayers and I was okay with it not wanting to get them back out again. (Not good, I know!) As I'm walking out of Hunter's room, he says "prayers, prayers". It was such a FABULOUS reminder of what's really important and how sweet these little Spirits are. A few days later at church, it was testimony meeting and Hunter was sitting there. He heard the end of one testimony and folded his arms and said Amen. He must have thought it was prayers. So like for the next 5 testimony's we all folded our arms like a prayer and said Amen. It was too cute!



• Ever since school got out, we have been super busy with extra gymnastics classes and swim lessons and family and projects, etc that I was feeling pretty good to just chill and stay around the house one day about a week or so after school was out. Reag comes over to me and says "Mom, when does school start?" Seriously, already asking?!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!!!!!! I've since planned more things.

Phillips Fun!

We had SOOO much fun with the Phillips'. We LOVED that they stayed for awhile and had so much fun the whole time--so much fun that I forgot to take pictures!!!!! We had Reag's party, and we shopped LOTS, the boys went fishing, we ate TONS, played LOTS of games and laughed uncontrollably--pretty much an awesome time! :) Come again soon!!!!!

Reagan's 6th Birthday

LOVE my sweet little girl. I can't believe that she's 6 already. A few nights before I got super teary thinking about it all going by so quickly. She acts so old and is so helpful all the time. I almost feel guilty since she helps so much and gets right on it when I ask her to do things. Happy Birthday Reag!

Wow! It seems like I just posted about Reag's 5th birthday and now here we are again! We decided to do a quick party last minute and Reag wanted to do a Barbie theme. We had family come and it was a FABULOUS time! We got the bounce house out and the kids played in it lots and jumped on the tramp, drove the truck, and blew bubbles.

We had pizza and salad and then enjoyed a yummy cupcake cake and ice cream.

One of my very best buddies and her daughter, Nellie came.

Awesome Phillips family--we LOVED that they decided to come and stay. We had a great time!!!!

After we ate we went to the pool in our neighborhood and had a blast!

100 Things

So, I've been working on making a blog book, so I was looking through past posts (so glad I've done this blog. there were lots of things I've forgotten!!) and ran across this. The first time I posted it was November 21, 2008 and I had accomplished 47 things. I've been able to make a few more things red (51) but have decided that I REALLY have to travel more--REALLY!!! However, I also decided that the list is missing a few things that I believe are accomplishments. Am I saying this to make myself feel better? Yes, a little. But it's true. For me, getting pregnant is an accomplishment. Having my Master's degree is an accomplishment. Being in love and in like with my husband after almost 9 years married is an accomplishment (some days more than others!). Getting to church on time is an accomplishment. Not taking children to the foyer is an accomplishment. Having my car clean for a week is an accomplishment. Not yelling at all in one day is an accomplishment! Getting debt paid off is an accomplishment! There are many, many others as well that we each have. This list is a fun start, but there's LOTS more I want to add to the list and some day accomplish!

Fair--ish

So this slide was pretty big. Hunter is in the stage of wanting to do whatever Reagan does, so up he went. He actually loved it and kept doing it. Thankfully, he knows his limits and doesn't try things that he really can't do. I can tell him no and he says okay and does something else. Thankfully!!

So the other day we went to a fair--ish. They were saying it was a fair and rodeo. We could only go the opening day so we went that afternoon and let's just say it wasn't all it was cracked up to be and the rodeo wasn't that night. :( The kids played for a minute. We met ut with friends, then we left and went to Chili's! Pretty sad that they had the most fun on the little playground! Oh well, we still had fun listening to music and visiting with friends!

Vegas Weekend!

This is at the park after the blessing. I go to check on Hunter and he is playing with these 13-14 year olds scooter. There's a skate park there and these boys are all dying at Hunter. They were telling me that he grabbed their scooter and was all about it taking it up and down the park's ramps and put on their "hat" (helmet) backwards and then couldn't see, but loved it! I'm kinda not sure who liked who better. These boys were loving watching him and were totally good with letting him play. And pretty much Hunter could've played on it all day!

It's so great when we get together because there are a TON of cousins and they all play so good together!

Reagan and McKayla really grew up together. Reag has gone through withdrawl not being with her all the time. They had such a blast all day. COME UP SOON!!!!

Last weekend we had a fabulous time visiting friends and family. That Friday I helped do a baby shower for a work friend right after school then we hurried down to Las Vegas for a fun dinner at CPK. Thanks to Chrissy and Christene for planning it and for everyone that came. It was wonderful to see friends! I laughed when talking to a few friends that couldn't come because they were going to be out of town--to St. George!!! Really?! Too funny! It was a blast though seeing people all weekend and visiting with my AWESOME, AWESOME friends that really were family to me while we were there. I always say that was the hardest part about leaving--my friends and ward. There are so many people there that I know I will be friends with forever. Anyways! That night was great visiting and eating yummy pizza. The next day we had fun park play dates with friends and visited others as well. Reag and Hunter had a blast playing all weekend and were so sad to leave and go back home. Saturday night we had date night, which is too funny that we would get to out of town since we NEVER get to have it at home. Then Sunday, we enjoyed sleeping in and having Chris cook for us for Mother's Day. That's right, we got to mooch off Chrissy's Mother's Day breakfast. :) Thanks Chris, it was good! We did gifts then got ready to go to a baby blessing for our cousins Drew and Loke. It was SOOOO fun to see them and all of our cousins and Loke's sweet family. We didn't leave till 7ish that night because we just didn't want to leave everyone. We've definitely been missing our family and friends. Good thing the drive isn't too long!! Sadly, I didn't take hardly any pictures until the blessing. I'm sooooo sad!!! I stole this one from Chrissy's blog, but I didn't take hardly any Saturday at all visiting with friends. :( It was FABULOUS to see everyone and I appreciate all of you that took the time to schedule with us or come eat or play, etc. And to everyone else that was out of town--Staci, Holly, Sarah or had plans already--Janeen, Tara (even though I saw you Sat!)---you all need to plan a fun trip and stay and play!!! Girls Night in St. George!!!!!! Love you guys!!!!!!! Thanks to the accomodating Lichty family for letting us stay--you're house is beautiful!

Just thinking...

The other day, Reag and I were shopping and she needed to use the bathroom. She was standing at the sink after with her hands waving and just waiting for the water to turn on. Yeah, I laughed and then lifted the handle! It was too funny!!!! Then it got me thinking about the other things that Reag doesn't get "in her generation" (insert old man voice here). Like, when I say I don't have any money and she says, "yes you do, just use the plastic square card". Really?! Or how it's totally fine for her to play with the camera since I can just delete the crazy pictures of the floor or toys. Remember how we grew up with a polaroid that gave instant pictures that you had to shake and they were expensive so we couldn't mess with it! Or the long skinny rectangle camera's that you actually had to DEVELOP, then your parents saw the crazy pictures and were mad!!! There are a million more things that my kids have and don't even realize how good they have it! It makes me laugh all the time the funny things they say. LOVE IT!!
