Nick and I took a much needed, fabulous weekend vacation to San Francisco to visit friends that will soon be moving. We kept saying we were going to go forever, then it finally came down to it and we said let's go!! We really needed it and justified doing it for a grad present for me. It was really a great time. We flew in Thursday night and came back home Sunday night. We left kids. It was hard, but it was so nice to just go go go without worrying about naps and snacks and not carrying a loaded diaper bag. Our friends are such a blast and toured us around all weekend to their favorite restaurants and sites. We loved being with them and having a few days to just be "Nick and Chels" and to talk without interruption. I love my kids more than my own life, but it was nice to holds hands and not rush and to talk and just be there with my sweetheart and rejuvenate the ol' marriage. We're almost at 8 years and we still want to be together and enjoy each others' company. Thanks Liz and Mike (and Max and Maggie!). We love you!!!

Such a fun trip! it was fun to catch up on your blog. I'm just now trying to get back into it. I forgot how much time it can take up. I could really use a trip like this. I love San Fran...and seeing your pics brought back a lot of memories. Cute kiddos... Reag still looks like Nick, but I think Hunter looks more like you than Nick... so at least you got your claim on one right? Hope things are going better for you guys. Congrats on graduating! Im proud of you for going back to school. Keep in touch! Love Angie
"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”
― Sister Marjorie Pay Hinckley
"Come what may and LOVE it!"
--Joseph B. Wirthlin
"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just ordinary people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey...delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."
--President Gordon B. Hinckley
"I know it is hard for you young mothers to believe that almost before you can turn around the children will be gone and you will be alone with your husband. You had better be sure you are developing the kind of love and friendship that will be delightful and enduring. Let the children learn from your attitude that he is important. Encourage him. Be kind. It is a rough world, and he, like everyone else, is fighting to survive. Be cheerful. Don't be a whiner." --Sister Marjorie Pay Hinckley
I am a happy wife and mother. Nick and I were high school sweethearts. We've been married 11 years now and we still flirt, kiss, laugh and tease every day and he still gives me butterflies. We have two beautiful kids who are complete opposites. We've worked hard for our kids and love them both more than we could ever describe. We know that the Lord is our Savior and has a divine plan for us. We know he is watching over us and we feel blessed every day--even with all the craziness life brings!!
